නමුත් මේ ගැන පැමිණිලි කල හැම පාරම මේ අය කිසිම දෙයක් කීවෙ නෑ. ඇවිත් දවසම දගලනව. යනව (ඇත්තටම පාරිභෝගික නිළධාරීන්වත්, එන අයවත් ඒ ගැන දන්නෙ නෑ). එහෙම දැනුම් දීමක් නොකර මේ අය මාස 3-4ක් බලන් ඉදල ඉහලින් ඇහුවහමයි සීන් එක කීවෙ.

ඒ පාර ටෙලිකොම් එකෙන් ආව පාර මෑන් කිලය මගෙත් blacklist කරලද දන්නෙ නෑ කියල. එතකොට තමා මේ ආව අය ඇමතුමක් අරන් පරික්ෂාකරල කියල තියෙන්නෙ එම සම්බන්ධතාවයත් Blacklist කියල.
මේ අය දැනගන්න ලැබුණ විදිහට 10GB ට වඩා මාසික භාවිතයක් (එක දිගට මාස තුනක්) තියන Home සම්බන්ධතා වලට මේ වැඩේ කරල. ඒත් මේ අවුල නිසා ලගදි මෑන් ඩවුන්ලෝඩ් කරල නෑ. ඒත් ස්ලෝ. ඒකෙන් අපිට Ping කරල බැලුවත් එක දිගට Timeout එනව. හැබැයි Torrent බෑවෙනව. ඒක නිසා මෑන් දැන් එක දිගට Torrent download කරනව. නෙට් යන්න බෑ ස්ලෝ. ඩවුන්ලෝඩ් බෑ ස්ලෝනම් torrent ඇරෙන්න වෙන මොනවද?
මේ අවුල ගැන මේ අය ඒ ඒ පාරිභෝගිකයන්ට පුද්ගලිකව හරි කියල කරන්න තිබ්බ. නැතිනම් සම්බන්ධතා ගද්දි හරි කියන්න ඕනෙ. නමුත් කිසිම දැනුම් දීමකින් තොරව මේහෙම කරන එක කොච්චර අසාධානරද. අනික මේ සම්බන්ධව කලින් දැනුම් දුනනනම් මේ අයගෙන් කීදෙනෙක් මේ අවුල එන්නෙ නැතිව තමන්ගෙ සීමාවෙ ඉදල කටයුතු කරයිද? දෙන්න පුලුවන් සීමාවන් ඉක්මවල දීල මේ අයව වෙනමම කණ්ඩායමකට දාල තලා පෙලනව. එක්කො දීගන්න බැයිනම් කියල දෙන්න ඕනෙ. දැන් ඩයලොග්, එයාටෙල් කියන්නෙ යම් භාවිතයකින් පස්සෙ වේගය මේ මේ විදිහට අඩු වෙනව කියල. නමුත් මේ අය ඒ කිසි දෙයක් කියන්නෙ නෑ.
ඒ කිසිම දෙයක් නැතැව හිතුව ගමන් මේ විදිහට තෝරාගත් අයට විතරක් කිසිම දැනුම්දීමකින් තොරව සීමා කරල (අසීමිතයි කියල සම්බන්ධතා දීල) අනියත් අයට හොද වේගයක් දෙනව කියල ප්‍රචාරය කරනව. ඇත්තටම අනිත් බොහෝ අයට හොද වේගයක් එනව. නමුත් මේ සම්බන්ධතාත් ඉස්සර කිසිම අවුලක් තිබ්බ ඒව නෙවේ. එහෙම තියනව කියල ඒ අය දුන්න ඒවත් නෙවේ. දැන් ඔය සීමා දැම්මට. එහෙම එකේ අනිත්වට ඉස්සරහට මොනව කරයිද දන්නෙ නෑ.
දැන් ඩවුන්ලෝඩ් කරනකොට පොඩ්ඩක් පරිස්මින් කරන්න වෙනව. තමන්ගෙ සීමාවෙ ඉදල. නැතිනම් Blacklist උනා කියල Full Happy එකේ Torrent Download කරන්න තමා වෙන්නෙ

ඊයේ ඉදන් ඩයලොග් මට 10GB ( Rs1490 5.5Mbps (Average)ඩොවුන් ලෝඩ් වෙනව ) දෙනව.. වේගයත් උපරිමයි.. ADSL Home 512 එකෙත් මට නම් අවුලක් නැ.. ස්පීඩ් එක 64-70KBps වගේ එනව මට නම්..
මේ අවුල නැති අයට SLT වේගය හොදටම හොදා.
ඩයලොගත් එහෙමයි. ඊයේ 600 – 700 KBps අතර වේගයකින් බාගත උනා
ඇයි දැන් 512 නෙමෙයි 1.1Mbps නේද? ඒත් ඉතින් dwnld වෙන්නෙ නම් 512 වලින්ම තමයි. 1.1 වලින් කනෙක්ට් නම් වෙනව. මාර කනෙක්ෂන්. 😀
නැ මචන් තාම 512kbps 1Mbps කෙලේ unlimited එක නෙවේ 1GB එක..

As in other telecom services, broadband services are cheap in Sri Lanka. In foreign countries, they can’t download so much with their free allowance (mostly 5GB). But, rich people do. They don’t do heavy downloading or most people don’t do heavy downloading as I know. So, we can’t say that only our internet connections are weak. Also the operators that encourage heavy downloading have weak performance in those countries.

Its not like bandwidth reduction like dialog already doing. Let say there are 40 ADSL home customers use 10Mbps link. Theoretically each user having 256Kbps speed, but ISP assumes all 40 customers not brows simultaneously. They assume only 20 customers use internet at a time. Hence they saying we provide 512Kbps speed for customers.
But 10 customers use this link 24*7 and its directly effect to other 30 customers speed. So ISP identify these 20 customers and allocate 2.5Mbps link to them and another 7.5Mbps link to light users. Then light users enjoy 512++ speed and heavy users having only 256k.
In this case no any bandwidth or contention ratio difference between heavy and light users. As a light user I like that SLT policy.
Thats i told this post and older post. But without inform, Doing like this. Is it Good?
When Dialog Reduce 7.2. to 1 Mbps They Inform. When we goint to Get Dialog 4Mbps Connection, they say 4Mbps is max. But Normal 2Mbps.
Why SLT cant do like that? They not inform until we ask from them. After enquirer they saying lies and cheating customer. I have so many experience.
When we get connection No information about limitation, FUP or Ratio. They say max speed… Unlimited.
Some times most SLT people dont know about.
Again this is not BW limitation. BW will be automatically limit according to users behavior. ISP didn’t apply any difference policy for these top downloaders. they also have same contention ratio.
As above example no any difference between light and heavy users in term of contention ratio other than their heavy usage. Hence I didn’t see any cheating behind this policy. If they willing to reduce high usage they can enjoy high speed. I saw someone said his average monthly DL limit nearly 300GB. I.e 10GB per day. what will happen all adsl customers start to DL like this. ?? can any operator offer proper speed for all these Broad band customers. Simply no.

yeh. Simply no. and SLT cant handle this Usage. But when they starting or After Down connection, They didnt tell anything about this FUP or ratio. Y cant they say it to customer. Unlimited mean Unlimit. No limitation. and also TRC accept this type complain. Becoz if ISP say 512Kbps Connection and No note about ratio or FUP or Higher usage Groups, They must need to supply service without interruption.
If they apply it, They need to say it 1st.

Again u got it wrong way. let say there are 150000 512k customers with SLT. according to ur theory ISP need 512*150000 Kbps International BW. (Nearly 75 Gbps) It s something like build separate toilets for each member of ur house.
Let say Dialog have 7 Mil customer base, but they cannot handle 7 mil calls simultaneously.
like wise ISP cant offer 512k Speed for all their customers if all of them brows 24*7
You saying “ratio is kind an Limitation.” yes can you explain how they provide without these limitation.
contention ratio is a ratio between No of users and pre-define BW. as example contention ratio is 1:5 means real world 512K BW share with 5 users.
Other thing is 512K is not a guaranteed band with. its a maximum limit. But ISP should provide acceptable percentage of define BW.
I personally think FUP should come from community not from the company.

If Dialog/Mobitel Network Always Busy, They Will Upgrade network. Not a limit Customer. They offered O/G Free Packages. Not Blaster. But If they cant handle, They stop it.
Think When Start Upahara, Mobitel network is suck. But they didnt apply any limitation. They had upgrade network.

Unlimited browsing and unlimited downloading it totally difference things. If you beleive internet browsing = downloading , this discussion is time wasting. Dialog or SLT or any ISP have capability to provide enough BW for unlimited internet users. not unlimited downloaders. All these packages design for browsing plus tolerable amount of downloading. not to download entire hollywood and bollywood to home PC.
In my first work place company provide unlimited Tea/Coffee for all employees. But we never misuse it. Company never define limit but users must know the limit. That is depending on their comman sense.
If you and you girl uses ur unlimited O/G free SIM for 10/12Hrs per day. that is a sick. It can be accepted atleast 2/3 times per month when special thing happen. because Operator assumes that you use it 2/3 Hrs per day when they design the package.
Leased line is diffrence stuff. Its design for cooperate customers and they paying very high monthly rental for their usage. If someone use HOME ADSL connection for their cooperate network Its wrong thing.
If ISP increase internatinal BW these suckers also increase their DL limit. Sri lanka is Island, so its not simple task increasing intl BW. . any operator cannot full fill their requirement. In SL some said ” I have DL more than 200GB within last month all others saying ” well done boy, next time I also try to DL more than that ” any one not standing against him or her.
Its Sick or not, They can use it. If its have limitation, The will Tell. Get Example from Upahara. They Say 12Noon to 6Pm free. 1000 Mins Free.

Im not say to every one need 1:1 bandwidth. But SLT must need to inform it to Customer. If They Limit Downloading or apply FUP as Dialog or Airtel, They can tell it to Customer. Why cant they do it?

Ya. Dialog Limit Maximum Upto 128Kbps. But FUP Applied SLT 4Mbps Download is low than 128Kbps Some times.
And Also Dialog, Airtel Informed it to Customers their Limitation, Speed and Usage details.
Same policy. Different way. Because SLT not sying limitation or speed to Cutomer. the always say Unlimited. But other ISP say. and also They have No Minimum speed after apply FUP, Only Ration. But Dialog and Airtel Does have.
Before Jan 2011, Is SLT say about Ratio. ??

When we buy an unlimited connection we can use it anyway we like to use it. It’s our right. That’s why we bought it. If we don’t use that connection that much will SLT charge less? Get your facts right or get lost. If the connection is 512 Kbps and it’s unlimited user can do whatever he wants to do having a speed of 512 Kbps. It’s not our problem whether the ISP have millions of users or not. It’s about what we bought. If the ISP can’t provide it then they have to stop giving new connections. But what they are doing? Offering more Peo TV , 8Mbps, 4Mbps connections and complaining that they can’t handle it? Dude are you a clown? It’s customers’ right to get the service what they were promised. Customer is not the person who worry about Service providers capability of providing the service. Use can’t call heavy downloaders ‘misuse’ it 😛 This is not a nursery
